Former Free State Premier Ace Magashule's then personal assistant Moroadi Cholota has told the State Capture Inquiry she was responsible for sourcing funds from business people for students in need.

Cholota's name was mentioned at the Commission during the testimony of the former Free State Economic Development MEC Mxolisi Dukwana. Dukwana said Cholota acted on behalf of Magashule to source funds from a businessman who'd scored a multi-million rand tender in the province.

It was alleged that Magashule's office at the time had made numerous "difficult requests" to Welkom businessman, Ignatius Mpambani, for payments of money for different purposes, adding that with the money, the former premier became a "blesser" to many.
