Renewable energy must and will be part of South Africa's energy mix.
This is one of key messages emerging from the second day of the Africa Oil and Power conference in Cape Town. This morning the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe, told the conference African countries should consolidate its energy resources to ensure supply for development and growth.
He added there it shouldn't be a case of fossil fuel versus renewable energy but rather a focus on combining both to ensure supply.
